Weight lifting might not be what you imagined it to be. Don't shy away from it! It helps you tone your muscles in order for your body to look more lean and nicely cut! Read more about Heavy weight lifting below!

  1. Heavy Weight Lifting So, you want to lose weight. Or just tone up. Or maybe you’re considering building a more active lifestyle. Good for you! Whatever the reason, it’s always good to be informed and go in with the knowledge and resources that are going to help you reach your goal, one milestone at a time. The first thing anyone looking to get more active in the gym needs to know is that there are plenty of options to choose from. Naturally, everyone gravitates to the treadmill, elliptical or StairMaster. Basically, cardio. Quite a few then gravitate toward the machines where they follow whatever instructions may be displayed on the exercise equipment.Well, that’s not all there is. Many people overlook the free weights. Maybe they’re intimidated. Maybe the don’t think it’s for them. The truth is, heavy weight lifting is for everyone. • First thing everyone needs to know is there are far more calories burned during heavy weight training than is ever achieved using cardio machines. • Many women avoid weight lifting in fear they will build over-developed muscles. This is so very, very false. Women don’t produce enough testosterone to be capable of achieving that kind of muscle mass. • You burn calories while you sleep. Crazy, right? It’s true. All that work you put in at the gym continues paying off as your body repairs itself while you sleep. • If you’re goal is to trim down, just 3 weight lifting sessions a week will result in a 10 percent reduction of body fat. • Lower cholesterol and blood pressure. Listen, at some point in life, everyone begins to be concerned about these things. Your 20’s don’t last forever. • Finally, in the words of Elle Woods, “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don't--.” You get the gist. Who wouldn’t want to be happier in their life? There are tons and tons of benefits to weight training. Like I said before, it’s for everyone.
