5 Morning Habits For A Happier Day

Set a positive tone for the day by engaging in these morning habits.

I’m sure a lot of you’ll have trouble waking up early (myself included). We like to hold on to our sweet sleep for a rather long time and then end up doing things at the eleventh hour…which makes us late, almost every time. We are rushing and are always on the go. But, think about this, wouldn’t you like to have a hearty breakfast, workout or do some yoga, and enjoy some moments of creative bliss before you head out for the day? If your answer is yes, then we have something for you. It’s time to shake things up a bit and set a new habit, a new morning routine.

Wake up a bit early

This one will hurt a bit, but it is an obvious solution. Let’s say you wake up at 9 am every day, try to wake up by 8:45 am. Once you get used to it, you can push it to 8:30 am. Slowly, you’ll get used to waking up early. While you do this, also make sure that you sleep on time. Otherwise, you’ll just spend your day sleep-walking.

Refrain from starting your day with social media

Most of us are already scrolling through Instagram or Facebook, even before our eyes are fully open. Guilty? Stop doing this, really. Allow yourself 15 minutes or half an hour of ‘no screen time’ after you wake up. No matter how hard you try to refute this but starting your day with social media is serving you no good. You can always check it later during the day.

Indulge in some physical activity

Yoga for a happier day

Now, don’t try to chicken out or skip this one. It is just a matter of developing a habit. It can be anything—an intense gym workout, yoga, aerobics, anything. But, just do it. It takes 21 days to build a new habit; give it 21 days, you’ll be amazed how much better you feel when you work out first thing in the morning.

Clean up…

This might seem irrelevant but believe me, it works. You know it will hardly take five minutes, so don’t postpone it. So, tidy up; nobody likes waking up in a house that looks as if a tornado just hit it. Take out a couple of minutes to fold your bedsheets, clean the dinner table, put away the laundry bag, or any other thing, which needs to be taken care of.

Take time out for yourself

Meditating is a great way to do so. The idea of doing ‘nothing’ might sound a little intimidating; regardless, give it a try. You might get the hang of it in a couple of days. Start off with five minutes and see how it makes you feel. It reduces stress, makes you more focused and boosts creativity, so it seems worth a shot, right?

Try these simple habits, you’ll definitely start your day on a happy note.😃
